How can I return or exchange my jeans?

We can only process registered returns, so please make sure to register your return before you do anything else! Whether you'd like a refund or an exchange, your request can be registered via the returns portal.

If you live within our "Free Returns Zone", your free return label should be directly included in your box. If not, check our general return info section.

mudjeans.returnista.com

Is it possible to exchange my jeans at a store?

Unfortunately, it is only possible to exchange your jeans online.

I missed the 30 days return period, can I still return or exchange my jeans?

We understand life gets in the way so if you return your jeans a little late, we understand. As long as they are unworn, unwashed and including all tags we can process your return after a period of 30 days for an additional 15 days.

I have worn my jeans, can I still return or exchange them?

We only accept jeans back for refund or exchange if they are in new condition. This means they need to be unwashed, unworn and tags must still be intact.

I live near Nieuwegein or Laren, can I drop my return parcel at your warehouse or your office directly?

It would be cool but, unfortunately, this is not possible. Please follow the return instructions shared on our returns page.

When can I expect my refund?

Your refund will be processed within 14 working days after we receive your return in the warehouse. Please note: the refund will be sent via the original payment method used for purchase. Credit card refunds can take longer to process as the refund is dependent on your credit card company.

Leasing

What is leasing and how do I lease my jeans?
  • For leasing you will pay a fixed amount every month, depending on the price of the jeans.
  • You have to lease a pair of jeans for 12 months. The payments are withdrawn from your bank account automatically.
  • After 12 months you can keep the jeans (the monthly payments stop automatically), swap them for a new pair.
  • You can lease more jeans at any time, during your 12-month lease period, or after. The discount for existing leasers will always be applied.
  • If you send us an old jeans at the start of your new lease, you'll receive one month discount on your lease.
Can I lease a second or third jeans while I'm in my 12-month lease period?

Yes you can lease a second or third jeans while still in your 12-month period. For any additional jeans you will receive a 10%. In order to only pay that amount and not the initial €9,95 you need to use a discount code at the checkout. Get the code by sending an email to info@mudjeans.eu.

Can I swap my jeans before 12 months?

When you lease your jeans, you sign up for 12 months of leasing them. After a year of leasing a pair, you have the option to keep wearing them, switch them for a new model – only paying the monthly fee or send them back for reuse/recycling. We recycle our old jeans and therefore don’t see those old jeans as waste but as valuable input for something new.

Why am I still paying for my lease?

When you become a leaser, you sign up for 12 months of leasing. Sometimes a monthly payment does not come through, for example because you have insufficient funds on your bank account. This month will simply be added at the end of your lease. In total, there will always be 12 monthly payments.

I have a new bank account or credit card, how do I change the bank details linked to my lease?

It is only possible to change your payment method to PayPal. Please email info@mudjeans.eu and we will help you out.

Can I lease a pair of jeans in one of your stores?

At the moment you can lease a pair of jeans at our lease shop at The Groene Afslag (Laren).

Styling advice

What is my size?

We have tried our best to make the experience of buying jeans online as easy as possible because we know how difficult it can be. You can find your size by using our sizing & fitting tool, Fitle. This is available on our product pages. Please also check our size chart for specific dimensions and recommendations per style, also to be found on the product pages in the tab Size & fit.
If you still need help with sizing, we are happy to help. Please email info@mudjeans.eu for styling and fit advice.

You have the same style jeans in stretch and non-stretch, what is the difference?

Please note the fabric composition of jeans before you place your order. Our non-stretch fabric is produced from 100% cotton (40% recycled, 60% GOTS certified organic). These jeans will have a more rigid fit and feel. Any fabric that contains elastane, on the other hand, is considered stretch (1% - 2% elastane), these jeans will have a softer feel and stretch with movement.

Repair

My MUD Jeans are torn. Can you repair them for me?

Are you a leaser? We offer free repairs for our leasers within the 1st year of purchase. We fully support extending the life of your beloved jeans and keeping them in the circular loop. Please make sure your jeans have been washed before sending, we only accept clean jeans for repair. Please add a note including your name, your delivery address and “repair - what you need repaired.” Please email info@mudjeans.eu for our current repair address. Keep in mind: repairs can take up to 30 days and we will inform you once the jeans are ready.

Sustainability tip: Keep in mind that the most sustainable option is to get your jeans repaired locally, as you avoid shipping your denim back and forth and, at the same time support smaller local repair shops.

Not a leaser? We cover 50% of the repair cost within the first year of purchase. Send an email to info@mudjeans.eu and we can help you further.

Recycling

Can I get a return label for recycling my old jeans (I live in the free shipping zone: NL, BE, DE, FR, DK, AT, LU)?

Great to hear that you want to recycle your old jeans and save them from waste. If you place an order for a MUD Jeans, you can get a discount and send your old jeans back for free. If you need to make an exchange, please send the jeans for exchange and the old jeans for recycling in the same parcel. We want to recycle your old jeans, but as the transport, discount and recycling process add up, we can only offer one free return label when you place an order on our webshop.

Can I get a return label for recycling my old jeans (I live outside the free shipping zone)?

If you live outside the free shipping zone, we cannot offer you a free return label. You can check on our store finder if there is a store nearby that takes back old jeans when purchasing a new one.

I have a lot of old jeans; can I send all of them to you?

As a circular brand, we make sure that no MUD Jeans are wasted and all stay in our denim loop. On top of that, we also do take back jeans of other brands (made of at least 96% cotton) and with this, we take care of the transportation costs and handling costs to get these jeans to our recycling partner in Valencia. Our business model is calculated on taking back one old pair of jeans at the purchase of a new one.

Do I get a discount for recycling my old jeans?

Yes, we encourage you to save your old jeans from ending up as waste.

If you live in the free shipping zone (Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark, Austria & Luxembourg) then you can ask us for a return label. Just go to the return link in the footer and follow the instructions.

Sustainability

Where are all products produced?

All our products are made in Tunisia, where we work closely with the ethical factory and long-time partner, Yousstex International. Our old jeans are shredded and mixed with fresh organic cotton at Recover in Spain, and then dyed and woven into new fabrics by Tejidos Royo - also in Spain. To find out more about our supply chain and sustainable practices, you can read our sustainability report here.

Do you offset your CO2 shipping emissions?

We sure do! Since 2016 we’ve been offsetting our transport emissions.

So your jeans are recycled but not second-hand?

The fabrics of our new jeans contain recycled fibres from recycling old jeans. So, yes they are fresh and new, but the fabric used was used before. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you will notice a little recycled fibre in your jeans. This shows that we walk the talk on our mission to create a world without waste. We do not see this as a fault, but as something that makes our jeans unique.

Are your jeans completely circular?

Yes! Our products are designed to be circular, so each component is made with one material only (monomaterial) to ensure recycling.

What dyes do you use, are they toxic?

Our dyes are cradle2cradle (C2C) certified, which means they are non-toxic. Material health means that the resources and materials used in a product are safe for the consumer and everyone who gets in touch with them in the supply chain.

Are your products vegan?

Yes, all our products are vegan. We are PETA-approved vegan, which ensures that no animal products were used throughout the production of our jeans. Being sustainable goes further than human welfare, that’s why all our denim is cruelty-free.

How many planet resources do I save if I buy a pair of MUD jeans?

Per jeans compared to industry standard we use (so you save):
93% less water
74% less carbon emissions
47% less land use
As a company we have a 51% lower impact on biodiversity than industry standard.

What certifications do you have?
  • BCORP: B Corps are for-profit companies that use business as a force for good. They are certified by the non-profit organisation B Lab, which checks specific standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel: evaluates a product’s total lifecycle from raw material to waste or in our case recycling, taking into account environmental impact in each part of the supply chain. After an extensive process of 1.5 years we’re proud to say all our products are Nordic Swan Ecolabel certified.
  • GRS: The GRS (Global Recycle Standard) is a full product standard that sets requirements of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions. By being GRS certified we ensure that the recycled components of our jeans are safe for the wearer and the planet.
  • Cradle 2 Cradle: evaluates a product’s total lifecycle from raw material to waste or in our case recycling, taking into account the environmental impact in each part of the supply chain.
Do you use certified organic cotton?

Any non-recycled cotton we use is certified organic cotton. This cotton is guaranteed to come from sources where no toxic chemicals, pesticides, or genetically modified seeds are used. Our fabrics are certified through OCS, which stands for Organic Content Standard.
